Set on the banks of the Thames, our historic Barnes pub is made for seasonal British food, long lunches and evenings overlooking the river. Settle into a cosy corner for a glass of red, gather around the table for a Sunday roast, or head upstairs for a celebration with one of Barnes’ most memorable views.
With Christmas around the corner, winter menus in the kitchen and plenty happening along the river, there are many reasons to stay a while.
As the seasons change, so does our kitchen. Our winter menu celebrates British produce at its best, with carefully sourced meat (including Ginger Pig), fish, seasonal vegetables and richer flavours made for colder days. Look out for changing specials alongside the main menu, and settle in for the kind of lunch that deserves another glass of red.
Christmas with us is all about gathering around the table and enjoying seasonal, British and traditional dishes. From intimate festive dinners to larger celebrations in our private and semi-private upstairs spaces, expect seasonal British feasts, carefully chosen wines and the Thames just beyond the windows.

Our private and semi-private spaces overlook the Thames and can be tailored to everything from intimate dinners and birthdays to Christmas parties, weddings and work events. It’s a more relaxed way to enjoy match day, plenty of atmosphere when it matters, without losing what makes a Sunday or Saturday at our riverside pub special. Book ahead for the bigger fixtures and make an afternoon of it by the river.

The White Hart is at The Terrace, Riverside, Barnes, London, SW13 0NR, directly on the River Thames. We’re ideally placed for riverside walks, Barnes village and exploring this part of South West London.
Barnes Bridge Station is the closest station, approximately 0.2 miles away. From the station, turn left and follow the riverside path towards Mortlake to reach the pub. Barnes Station is approximately 0.8 miles away.
We don’t have our own car park. Barnes Bridge Station is just a short walk away, so travelling by train is one of the easiest ways to reach us.
Yes. Dogs are welcome at The White Hart, making us a great stop before or after a walk along the Thames. We have water bowls and treats available for our four-legged visitors.
